Tomorrow, MONDAY, AUGUST 24th is the first day of school! We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our students. We have missed their faces and can’t wait to see them. Please understand that this school year will be different than years in the past. It is going to take everyone working together to make this year successful. There will be several people directing students during the first week.
A Few Non- Negotiables This Year:
There are no visitors allowed in the building.
If you need to pick up your child for any reason, you can either:
Call the school when you arrive, we will check to make sure that the person outside is an approved person to pick up your child, and the student will walk out to the vehicle.
Buzz into the office from outside and we will send your child out to you.
If your child is sick, keep him/her home!
Call the office by 1:00 pm if your child’s after school plans have changed.
Car riders will be dropped off and picked up using the west drive and circling around to the building. Drop off will be at the southwest door. Pick up will be at the northwest door. It would be beneficial to put your child’s name on a piece of paper and hold it up during pick up. This will help speed up the pick up process.
Starting the Day:
(Breakfast will be served until 8:20.)
Country Buses will arrive at school at 8:00.
Town Buses will pick-up at 8:05 and arrive at school at 8:10.
Parent drop off, walkers, & bike riders can arrive between 8:10-8:20.
Parents, please remain in your vehicles until we let you know it is okay for you to leave. We will be checking temperatures and symptoms as soon as your child arrives. If they have a temperature of 100.4 or higher or showing other symptoms, they will be sent home with you.
Entering the building will be different this year.
Students who are dropped off will enter through the west doors. (This is the same procedure as last year.)
All other students (bus riders, walkers, and bike riders)
Prek-4th grade will be entering the doors by the library.
5th-8th grade will be entering the main doors by the office.
Upon arrival, students will need to practice social distancing and wait to be screened before entering the building. Students will then get a colored dot on their hand so teachers know students passed the screening. Students will then either go directly to breakfast or directly to their classroom.
Students will not be allowed to play on the playground and they will have lunch recess with only their class for the foreseeable future.
2:00 Town Bus
2:05 Car Riders, Bike Riders, and Walkers
2:10 Country Bus
We understand that this is all new to the students as well as all of the adults. It is going to take time for everyone to get used to it. Thank you for your patience as we work to make this the best school year we can provide for our students. We are doing everything we can to keep them healthy.
